Most of our guests come here by flying to Faro, Sevilla or Lisbon.

Many of our guest fly to Faro, rent a car and drive here (1/2hour) - sometimes as a part of a longer trip around Portugal. Faro Airport is not too large and quite efficient, even if peak Summer travel days are very busy. If you prefer not to drive we are happy to arrange an airport transfer, you can then use our bicycles or rent some while you are here.

The next airport from here is Sevilla which is 2 easy hours of driving from here. This is a relatively small airport, but it does have a number of good flights to various places in Europe and is easy to get in and out of, and the flights tend to be cheaper than flights to Faro.

Finally, there is Lisbon, 3 hours easy drive (inclusive of a short coffee stop) from Casa Flor de Sal. A number of guests use this option and spend a couple of days in the Lisbon area; another thing worth knowing is that flights in high season are often cheaper and easier to find to Lisbon compared to Faro. The airport has struggled a bit to keep up with the success of Lisbon as a destination; plan with sufficient time before departure.

Some car rental companies allow cars to be picked and dropped at different airports in Portugal (at times against a charge), which means you could combine Lisbon and Faro.

Also remember, a number of airlines fly to one airport some weekdays and to another on other days. If you would like to help, we are happy to see what we can do.
